Professional Headshots in Seattle

Seattle Lifestyle Photographer

November 17th, 2021

A client of mine reached out for professional headshots for her new position as CFO in a startup company. Early Spring in Seattle can give us surprise Sunshine, and we were lucky to land our session on one of those sunny spring days!

When I arrived, I toured her home in search of the best location to  set up my portable studio.  Spending a couple of minutes to find the best natural light to work with is very important if you want consistent results. Light quality is important when photographing clients indoors, and finding the right location is something your photographer will find.

Her bedroom had a large East facing window and was an easy selection for even and beautiful light. After 10 minutes getting my equipment properly secured, we began our photoshoot.

We focused on headshots, but also spent some time outside to catch some of the Seattle Spring foliage. Her daughter even joined us for some added reality of working at home with young children.

Professional headshots are a dime a dozen these days. In Seattle, photographers are a plenty. Take your time and find the right match for you by thoroughly stalking their portfolios. A few things about my style that might connect me with a client;

* I use natural light only. That means no flash set up, and it also means we need decent light. Listen to your photographer about your appointment time and place.

* Props are minimal. We don't distract from YOU. Unless you have an adorable office assistant, they can join for a portion too (example at the bottom of this blog).

* I do not use a studio. That means that I can come to your space, or I can direct us to an appropriate location. Even without a studio, I can create classic, timeless portraits using a backdrop of our choosing.

* We can however rent a studio together for our project if you prefer. There are many wonderful services that rent studios in the Seattle area, one is Peerspace.com

Here are a collection of headshots from a recent Portrait session in Seattle. Both indoors, outdoors and environmental.
