Family Photos at Low Tide at Golden Gardens Park in Seattle

Seattle Family Photographer

April 20th, 2022

Golden gardens park in Seattle is one of the most popular beach destinations in the area. With unmatched views of the Olympic Mountain range, sandy beaches, as well as extended park with hiking trails, a play field, playground and dog park. It is an all around must visit Park in the Seattle area.

When I bring my clients to Golden Gardens, I aim for sunrise or close to it. This timing gives us the warm glow of a low sun in the sky, but also avoids a lot of the crowds that show up for sunset. Low Tide at Golden Gardens Park is especially beautiful. The sandbar peaks through shallow waves, shells and seaweed tangle in low pools, and the gentle lapping water is perfect for all families and ages.

Family photos at Low Tide at Golden Gardens Park in Seattle are available April through September, and dates are released to my Newsletter community in early Spring each year.

This family joined me on a windy morning, but the sun was warm enough to go barefoot in the water of the Pacific Northwest.

We splashed and twirled and explored the shallow water pools with the fresh eyes of a 3 year old. Toddlers are so much fun to spend time with at the beach. Their curiosity and excitement keeps us moving and constantly finding new things to discover.

Family photos can be fun and carefree!

We can explore your favorite parks in your neighborhood or I can set up a Low Tide adventure for your Family! I coordinate with tidal charts of the Pacific Northwest and choose dates that align with the best morning light. We meet at Golden Gardens Park and begin our exploration.

Sometimes we meet others taking advantage of the quiet morning walking their dogs or taking one of the many incredible guided walks through the Seattle Aquarium and the Beach Naturalist Program. Who have guided Low Tide walk all around the Puget Sound.

Just like you would expect in the Pacific Northwest, the weather can be  unpredictable.

I have photographed families in rain, wind, bright sunshine and everything in between.  If you and your kids are comfortable, then why not go for it and have a little more of an adventure. This family got lucky with calm overcast clouds that cast beautiful light and gave a pop of color to the landscape.

"Ugh, these are so beautiful it hurts, and what an awesome way for us to commemorate our way too short time living in Seattle. I LOVE the album, love the paper prints, love it all. We had such an amazing time shooting with you, you really just perfectly captured us--our daughter's rambunctiousness and joy and mine and my partner's awkwardness! Thank you again so much for everything!"

Take a look at a couple other Low Tide Family photo sessions to get a feel for what your session could look like!

I love these photos and low tide idea, it makes me want to take a trip to the beach just for these shots.
